Chronicle Your Life for 88 Years by Filling in Boxes on This Creative Poster

4000 Weeks Poster

Spanish brand 4K WEEKS has a creative way for you to chronicle your life. Their 4k Weeks Poster comprises tiny boxes in which each square corresponds to one week of life—enough to fill 88 years (the average lifespan of a human). The premise is simple: color the boxes based on the number of weeks you’ve lived. Through the weeks, and in turn years,  you’ll see different designs emerge and fade away as new ones come into view. It all depends on your age and time of year.

The makers of the 4k Weeks Poster acknowledge that seeing time ticking by in this way is “slightly terrifying” but it’s “extremely effective” as a reminder that we aren’t here forever. “We launched this project at the start of 2020,” Álvaro, co-founder of 4K WEEKS, tells My Modern Met, “but we've been using something very similar to it for a long time. After seeing the powerful impact it had on how we invested our time and ultimately how we lived, we knew we had to share it with the world and impact as many lives as possible.”

The goal of the 4k Weeks Poster is to make you conscious of your time. When it feels like the days are endless, it can be easy to fill them with things that are not important. But by seeing the squares fill up, it’s a gentle nudge to focus on what really matters to you. “The beautiful thing is that everyone has completely different priorities,” Álvaro says, “but being conscious of your limited time forces you to think about it and realize if you are actually living the life you want to live; and if you are not, it's time to change that!”

The 4K Weeks Poster is now available on the 4K WEEKS website.
