Jessica Stewart is a Staff Editor and Digital Media Specialist for My Modern Met, as well as a curator and art historian. Since 2020, she is also one of the co-hosts of the My Modern Met Top Artist Podcast. She earned her MA in Renaissance Studies from University College London and now lives in Rome, Italy. She cultivated expertise in street art which led to the purchase of her photographic archive by the Treccani Italian Encyclopedia in 2014. When she’s not spending time with her three dogs, she also manages the studio of a successful street artist. In 2013, she authored the book "Street Art Stories Roma" and most recently contributed to "Crossroads: A Glimpse Into the Life of Alice Pasquini." Winners of the 2024 Epson International Pano Awards Share Amazing Panoramic Views of the World

Photographer Kelvin Yuen has been named 2024 Open Photographer of the Year at the Epson International Pano Awards. Based in Hong Kong, Yuen impressed the judges with his strong portfolio of landscape photography. This led him to beat out 4,529 entries from 1,105 professional and amateur photographers in 95 countries. Yuen's unyielding tenacity to get the shot he wants is evident in his submissions to the contest. For Power of Nature, he woke up at 3 a.m.

The 2024 Siena International Photo Awards have announced the winners of the prestigious photo contest, naming winners across 12 categories as well as an overall winner. From the heart-wrenching reality of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and war in Ukraine to stunning scenes of animal conservation, the winners strike a wide balance of issues. Detailed Milky Way Map Shows Hidden Parts of Our Galaxy

Astronomers have published the most detailed infrared map of the Milky Way. With over 200,000 images taken by ESO‘s VISTA telescope, this map is a breakthrough that gives astronomers new insight into our galaxy. The telescope, located in Chile, is used to map large portions of the sky. Thanks to its infrared camera, VIRCAM, which can see through the Milky Way's dust and gas, astronomers can see into hidden areas.

Artist Uses Local Resident To Capture the Spirit of Brixton in New Mural

Spanish artist Sebas Velasco is known for his incredible portraits, which combine Old World sensibilities with the urban landscape. Most recently, Velasco brought his talents to southeast London for the London Mural Festival. Painted in Brixton, his large-scale mural shows a local resident with a train passing behind him. The best street art always speaks to its environment, and Velasco takes this philosophy to heart in A Lasting Place.
