Kids are much smarter than we give them credit for, especially when they really want something. A little boy named Auggie Rooney is the perfect example of this. During a shopping trip to a toy store with his dad, his loving father offered to get him a toy, but there was one rule: it has to fit in the boy’s hand. Rather than being puzzled or looking desperately for something tiny, Auggie quickly (and adorably) outsmarted his dad.

In a video, the little boy can be seen picking a Fisher-Price DJ Table. The box is almost as big as him, and he even has to open his arms wide to carry the box. Auggie confidently says, “It fits in my hand.” The dad calmly refutes by saying “How big is your hand?” adding that he may be able to carry it with both hands but he may not be able to do so with just one.

The little kid then gives it a thought for a second. Taking advantage of the packaging, he inserts his hands between the cardboard and the toy to raise it from the bottom of the shelf. He victoriously takes one hand out and lifts it, to which the dad can only react by laughing.

Like any boy his age, Auggie loves toys, so this isn't the first time he has gotten a bit too excited at the toy store. Earlier this year, his parents shared a clip of him going down the aisle acknowledging that he wanted some toys “but not a lot.” Cut to him and his sister, Gherky, barely able to push a toy-filled basket around.
