Guy Can’t Go on Birthday Trip but His Cardboard Cutout Does and Has a Great Time

A life-sized cardboard cutout is usually something that's reserved for celebrities who want to promote their latest big-name project. With sites like Party Standups, however, anyone can now have their portrait immortalized as a giant cutout. Redditor AteMyWheaties and his pals took advantage of this new opportunity. The group wanted to celebrate their friend Kevin's birthday in style and asked him to go on a three-day getaway. Kevin was unable to attend because he's a father with a young family, and both he and his fiance weren't too keen on this prospective absence.

Partying without their friend wasn't an option, so the gang decided to bring Kevin along anyways–they had a replica Kevin printed (a foot shorter than in real-life) and sat next to his 2D likeness as they trekked to their destination. He went everywhere with them, from a rooftop overlooking the city to a packed club to a restaurant to refuel with tacos at 2AM. Strangers happily posed with the cutout, and a few even “kicked” a soccer ball around with him. Overall, it seems like faux Kevin had a great time!

For more hilarious possibilities with a cardboard cutout: this son pranked his family with one, but his mom brilliantly turned the tables on his joke.
