This Luxury Japanese Maternity Hospital Provides 5 Star Postpartum Care

Japanese Maternity Hospital

Childbirth is one of the most amazing moments of a woman’s life but it’s also, understandably, totally exhausting. That’s why Keiai Hospital in Fujimi City, Japan offer new mothers a luxury five-day stay to help them rest and recuperate post-birth.

The privately owned maternity hospital has been catering to moms and babies since 1971, so it’s well-versed in world-class care. Having a baby there is just like staying in a five-star hotel—the grounds of the hospital are not only clean and spacious, but they’re also beautifully decorated. Each mother can choose from a range of different rooms and they’re all completely private. Moms are treated to complimentary gifts, including postpartum care products, personal pampering treats, as well as beauty treatments. They also offer baby amenities like nappies, bottles, and formula, and the hospital even has its own range of baby clothes to choose from.

One British woman who recently had her baby at the hospital reveals, “It was wonderful not to have to worry about forgetting to bring something important to the hospital—some of my mom friends in my home country agonized over what to pack in their hospital bag, but I didn’t really need to bring anything. Having all the presents and gifts felt like it was someone’s birthday—which it was! It made having a baby even more special.”

If you’re wondering about the food, you won’t find the usual tasteless hospital meals here. The clinic employs professional chefs who provide multiple courses, served in a sit down restaurant for lunch and dinner. There’s even a buffet breakfast and afternoon tea! The hospital also provides food for guests, so the whole family can celebrate the baby’s arrival together. The new mom recalls, “I was able to invite my husband and mother-in-law to join me for lunch on the buffet lunch day, and on my final night at the hospital my husband and I were able to share a French course meal while listening to a live piano performance in the restaurant.”
