Artist Jonathan Martinez merges graphic design with street art aesthetic in his depictions of rare and endangered animals. His vibrant illustrations—which star giant pandas, tigers, ocelots, hummingbirds, and more—appear to glow from within.
To do this, the artist employs a striking palette of florescent pinks, blues, and purples in rendering the animals. By using an eye-catching color scheme, Martinez makes the faces of rare and endangered species of animals unforgettable. Additionally, the artist's versatility allows him to produce graphic pieces across a range of mediums, including pens, markers, acrylic paints, and even spray paint.
Martinez began his creative practice in wildlife art nine years ago, after receiving an assignment in his college painting class. The Californian artist elected to do a series of works about bears and, whilst researching different species, learned that every one he painted was endangered. Since then, Martinez has made it his mission to raise awareness of animal conservation through his dazzling drawings.
