If you struggle to get going in the morning and absolutely cannot function without caffeine, perhaps The Barisieur 2.0 is exactly what you need. Created by London-based product designer Joshua Renouf (of Joy Resolve), this coffee maker alarm clock makes waking up a total pleasure. The multi-functioning machine not only wakes you up with sound and the fresh aroma of coffee beans, but it brews a fresh cup of coffee right by your bedside. You’ll not even have to leave the comfort of your covers!
Renouf first introduced The Barisiuer to the world back in 2016 on Kickstarter and Indiegogo, where he raised over $750,000. With a mini milk fridge, a drawer for storing coffee, a smart induction coil, and a display clock, there’s so much to love about The Barisieur. However, 4 years since the first version was released, the popular bedside barista has been updated.
Available in black and and white colorways, The Barisieur 2.0 features the same sleek design as the original, but it comes with a better brewing system that now allows users to brew tea as well as coffee. The redesigned, hand-blown glass brew chamber allows you to control the strength of your drink, and an integrated strainer with a “gate” allows you to decide when your brew will be poured into your cup. “Due to its cylindrical and conical shape, the gate provides a perfect seal when in position in the glass chamber,” explains Joy Resolve on Kickstarter. “Simply lift the strainer up to release the brew directly into your cup.” The team also redesigned the “shower head,” allowing for an even dispersion of water at a precise temperature of 94° C (about 201°F). The Barisieur 2.0 even has a wireless charger for your phone—they’ve really thought of everything!
