Artist Jeff Koons’ Balloon Dog is getting a miniature reimagining that will liven up any room. Working with Lexon, the French design house founded in 1991, Koons has unveiled eight limited-edition pieces as part of their Chromatic collection. The line includes the Balloon Dog Lamp Chromatic and the Balloon Dog Speaker Chromatic, both in the shape of the artist’s iconic sculpture. Each product comes in four exclusive colors and they’re all only going to be available in 2026, making them rare collector’s items.
Koons first released his famous, 10-foot-tall Balloon Dog in 1994 as part of his Celebration series. The collection explored nostalgia through large-scale renderings of childhood objects, including Easter eggs, tulips, and inflatable animals. Over the following years, Koons introduced Balloon Dog in additional colors: blue, magenta, orange, and red. Each version shares the same reflective stainless steel surface, which gives the sculptures a sense of lightness even as they weigh over a ton.
Lexon, known for blending technology with minimalist design, initially released the Balloon Dog Lamp in 2025 with a transparent polycarbonate exterior. Now, the 11.4-inch-tall Chromatic lamp comes in Gold, Blue, Red, and Platinum, which more closely resembles the shiny surface of Koons’ original stainless steel Balloon Dog. It is equipped with 400 integrated LEDs and nine different lighting effects, allowing users to personalize their space. Designed to work in harmony, multiple Balloon Dog Lamp Chromatic pieces can pair together to create a synchronized lighting experience throughout the home. The lamp uses a standard USB-C cable for charging and has a battery life of five hours when set to 75% brightness.
The Balloon Dog Speaker Chromatic also lights up a room but not in the traditional sense—it livens a room with sound. It functions as a 360-degree speaker system powered by six active speakers and four acoustic boosters. It features Bluetooth 5.3 for seamless connectivity, along with a built-in microphone for hands-free calls. Users can adjust the volume, play, and pause music using the dog’s nose, while the ears control song skipping and call management. This playful incorporation of the sculpture’s anatomy echoes Koons’ original goal for Balloon Dog: combining childlike whimsy with innovation.
The Balloon Dog Chromatic is part of a time-limited 2026 release and will never again be made in these colors. It is available for pre-order on Lexon’s website (each for $800), comes engraved with Koons’ signature, and includes a certificate of authenticity. By combining light, sound, and sculpture, the collaboration reimagines one of Koons’ most notable works as an immersive design object that brings contemporary art into the home.
