For the eco-conscious artists out there, opting for a ceramic paint palette is much more favorable than a plastic one. And when they’re as cute as these animal-shaped mixing trays, it’s an obvious choice. Designed and handcrafted by Italy-based ceramicist Marina (of Tramai Ceramics), the adorable, one-of-a-kind box palettes and brush rests are the perfect little companions for your art studio or desk.

Each ceramic creature is hand-sculpted from Tuscan white clay and hand-painted to feature cute faces and colorful details. From rabbits to turtles, Marina’s box palettes come in two parts—the upper part is the lid that can also be used as a water bowl, and the lower part is the palette. They’re perfect for mixing watercolors and other pigments. And when you’re done, you can rest your brush on the matching tiny brush rests.

Marina named her business to reflect the lighthearted feeling her pieces evoke. “[Tramai] means “trap” in Friulano, our local language, but it can also refer to someone who is high spirited and cheerful,” she explains. “This word was perfect for our artistic project: a trap-lab to catch brilliant ideas.”
