Funny Photos of “Miserable Men” Who Just Want the Shopping Trip to Be Over

If you loathe the stale air and artificial light of mall stores and big-box retailers, know that you are far from alone. For many years, the hilariously relatable Instagram Miserable Men has documented the plight of guys who made the mistake of accompanying their partners on a shopping excursion. They seek the refuge of chairs, benches, or anything else that they can lean on—or better yet, sleep on.

Some of the men featured on the Instagram look as annoyed as they are bored. But others see it as a valuable opportunity to make lemons into lemonade. They settle into their seat and start scrolling on their phone, probably catching up on their favorite streaming shows. Or, the more brazen of the bunch choose to take a nap. These particular guys will sprawl out on public benches or snooze in the shoe department; they aren't picky as long as it's time to go home once they're shaken awake.

You can follow Miserable Men on Instagram to see more of these bored fellows—and commiserate with them—all year long.
