Baby Lambs Sit in Pouches Carried by Donkeys Along Ancient Paths for Seasonal Grazing

Donkeys have carried heavy loads on their backs for centuries; but in rural Italy, they take on the most precious cargo of all—baby lambs. Wearing specially designed saddles, each with a cozy pocket for a lamb, the donkeys carefully transport their adorable passengers between high alpine pastures in summer down to the Lombardy plains for winter grazing. New 3D Scans of the Titanic Reveal the Most Detailed Look at the Ship in Its Final Moments

Back in 2022, filmmaker Anthony Geffen and his team embarked upon a journey off the coast of Newfoundland. Over the course of three weeks, Geffen followed Guernsey-based company Magellan as they mapped the wreckage of the RMS Titanic, which is submerged more than 12,500 feet below the North Atlantic Ocean. Magellan gathered an unprecedented 16 terabytes of data and 715,000 images of the ill-fated ship, while Geffen produced Titanic: The Digital Resurrection for National Geographic.

1,000 Refugees Share Their Hopes and Dreams in Powerful Portrait Series [Interview]

With a project called 1000 Dreams, one non-profit is looking to change prevailing images and attitudes about refugees by allowing them to tell their own stories. Witness Change uses visual storytelling to end human rights violations for marginalized communities. For 1000 Dreams, which is now on display at the Bronx Documentary Center, the organization worked with 1,000 refugees across Europe to author their own stories, accompanied by striking portraits.

This LEGO Kaleidoscope Lets You Actually View Psychedelic Patterns

LEGO bricks are typically used for building miniature structures, but a new project in the LEGO Ideas platform sees a particular new use with some of the colorful blocks. Designer Milan Sekiz, an experienced LEGO builder, created the KaLEGOidoscope, a functioning kaleidoscope made entirely of LEGO bricks—from its rainbow body to the translucent pieces that create a myriad of patterns within.
