92-Year-Old Woman Is the World’s Longest Working Model

In an industry that so often focuses on youth, Carmen Dell'Orefice is an inspirational figure. At 92 years old, she is considered the oldest working model. While Hong Kong-based model Alice Pang is a couple of years older at 96, Dell'Orefice is unique because her career did not begin in her 90s or even middle age. Amazingly, she has been modeling since she was 15, boasting an impressive career that spans 77 years.

Endangered Green Sea Turtle Suffering From Hypothermia Is Rescued in Oregon

Green sea turtles are gentle giants of the ocean. Herbivores whose plant diet gives them their trademark green color, they roam the waters of the Earth. Certain populations of the green sea turtle are sadly dubbed endangered species. They weigh up to 350 pounds as adults and stretch up to 4 feet. But one individual member of the species proved much smaller, almost diminutive, when she washed ashore on an Oregon beach suffering from hypothermia.

Incredible Winners of the Close-Up Photographer of the Year Contest

Hungarian photographer Csaba Daróczi took home the grand prize at the fifth edition of the Close-up Photographer of the Year (CUPOTY) contest. His striking black and white photo of a Eurasian nuthatch in flight was taken from inside the hollow of a tree, making for a unique composition. Daróczi was not only named the overall winner, but he also won three different categories—Butterflies & Dragonflies, Animals, and Intimate Landscapes.
