London Museum Is Returning Over 70 Pieces of Looted Art to Nigeria

The Kingdom of Benin was established in the 13th century in West Africa. From medieval beginnings emerged a powerful kingdom with extensive trade networks, glorious art in bronze and wood, and powerful rulers known as obas. Its capital was Benin City, or Edo, and is still an urban center of present-day Nigeria. In 1897, British troops razed the city—pillaging treasures and burning buildings. Many of these looted works ended up in European museums.

Couple Finds Love Through a “Poorly Drawn Cat” and Gets Married 3 Years Later

Three years after meeting online, a British-American couple finally tied the knot. Although long-distance relationships are nothing new, the way these two people were brought together—through a portrait of a cat—is as unexpected as it is endearing. Little League Batter Comforts Upset Pitcher Whose Throw Hit Him in the Head

Two young athletes displayed amazing sportsmanship at the Southwest Region Championship on Tuesday, August 9, 2022. The game determined whether a team from Pearland, Texas, or Tulsa, Oklahoma, would qualify for the Little League World Series. However, it was an unexpectedly endearing moment that stole the show. In the first inning, Texas pitcher Kaiden Shelton accidentally threw a wild pitch that landed on the side of the Oklahoma batter Isaiah Jarvis' head.
