“Garden Wizard” Mows His Lawn 3 Times a Day to Create Award-Winning Grass Art

Birmingham-based greenskeeper Keith Smith is responsible for maintaining the grass at Edgbaston Golf Club. Even when he's not on the putting green, however, Smith doesn't stray too far from his day job. Known as a “garden wizard,” he has cultivated an amazing work of grass art in his own front yard. Smith was able to transform his ordinary lawn into an ornate masterpiece using two trusty $40 antique push-mowers.

You Can Now Download a Collection of Ancient Japanese Wave Illustrations for Free

Fans of traditional Japanese art, rejoice! There’s now an incredible online collection available featuring ancient wave and ripple designs from 1903. The black ink drawings were originally produced by the little-known Japanese artist Mori Yuzan. Despite his lack of fame, Yuzan’s artwork speaks for itself—his expressive motifs and patterns would have acted as a go-to guide for traditional Japanese craftsmen looking to adorn their swords, religious objects, ceramics, and other items with wave designs.

The retiree gives his time to the Safe Haven Pet Sanctuary in Green Bay, Wisconsin, and they recently shared heartwarming photos of him as he napped with a few kitties on their couches.
