Beautiful Blue Jay Still Has Half of Its Baby Feathers as It Transitions Into Adulthood

Adolescence is an awkward time for all of us, but it’s not just people that go through physical changes—animals do too. In a photo posted on Reddit, a “teenage” Blue Jay (Cyanocitta cristata) is captured transitioning between having its fluffy, gray baby feathers to sporting its vibrant blue adult plumage. With gray down feathers up top and sleek, blue feathers on its lower half, this little bird seems to have a split personality.

75-Year-Old Artist Memorializes His Late Cat in Scenes of Giant Topiary Gardens

Have you heard of topiary? It’s the horticultural art of sculpting trees and shrubs into defined shapes. Inspired by the technique, 75-year-old British artist Richard Saunders began his series, The Topiary Cat, which involves digitally transforming foliage into felines. The ongoing series is inspired by his own cat, Tolly, who sadly passed away five years ago. However, his feline friend has been given a new lease on life through a fictional character.

Air Force Photographer Captures Neatly Organized Fighter Jets and Weapons From Above

At first glance, this photo looks like it’s made up of toy model planes and mini figurines. However, each person is real and every object is life-sized. The aerial image was taken by Ognyan Stefanov, the official photographer of the Bulgarian Air Force who joined the team to take part in the Tetris Challenge. Woman Turns Her Chilled Out Cat Into a Zen Garden

Cats are pretty chill, but there’s one feline in Sydney, Australia who’s so relaxed, that she’s become a zen garden. Professor, writer, and poet Sarah Holland-Batt used a tiny rake and some stones to transform her cat, Lola, into what looks like a Japanese landscape. Lola’s sand-colored fur makes the perfect surface for creating swirling rake patterns, and the chilled out cat seemed more than happy to sit still while being mindfully combed.
