It is only a couple of weeks until this year's Super Bowl. While it still has to be seen which teams will be competing, the NFL provided more information about the entertainment people can expect during the event. In September 2022, we found out that the halftime show will be filled by Grammy winner Rihanna. Now, it has been announced that the National Anthem will be performed by country star Chris Stapleton.
Although he may not be as well known outside of his genre, Stapleton has won eight Grammys, 14 Country Music Association Awards, and 10 Academy of Country Music Awards. Many country music fans have praised his selection and shared their excitement for his upcoming performance. He will be the fifth country singer to deliver the National Anthem in the past eight Super Bowls.
The NFL announced the other pregame entertainment as well. Singing “America the Beautiful” is R&B musician Babyface. And actress Sheryl Lee Ralph, who stars in the beloved sitcom Abbot Elementary, will be performing “Lift Every Voice and Sing.”
Super Bowl LVII begins at 6:30 PM ET on February 12, 2023.
