It’s no secret that plants are great companions for your home. They both enliven your space and rid it of toxins. NASA has even compiled a list of the best plants to have in your home that'll help the air stay clean; this characteristic is reason enough to have at least one plant on your coffee table. But be warned—buying plants is addictive, especially when you see the incredible possibilities through Instagram accounts like Hilton Carter, whose space is teeming with gorgeous green.
As with all things, if you don’t know where to start, consult the internet. There are many reputable online plant shops that will ship you a bevy of blooms—often within just a couple of days. From smaller, curated shops like The Sill to the massive selections on Amazon, you’re sure to find a type of plant or flower that you'll love and can care for.

With the tagline, “Plants make people happy,” The Sill offers a variety of plants, from succulents to leafy ferns. They sell them both with and without planters, making it ideal for someone just getting started or for the plant lover who’s looking to fill their newest vessel. In addition to selling plants, their Instagram is full of helpful advice and Live sessions with a resident plant expert.
Lula’s Garden
Are you a succulent lover? If so, you’ll want to check out Lula’s Garden. Founder Liraz Birnabaum spent over a year developing an eco-friendly product that’s meant to be given as a gift; each succulent garden is hand-planted and comes in a gift box that doubles as a planter.
Terrain
Terrain is an offshoot of the store Anthropologie, and it carries that same rustic-bohemian aesthetic with it. Whereas places like The Sill focuses on just plants, Terrain is a plant and gardening lifestyle site. They sell fresh plants and flowers as well as gardening tools and fire pits for entertaining.
Bloomscape
Bloomscape was started by Justin Mast, a fifth-generation greenhouse grower and the grandson of a man who helped introduce the United States to the Dutch tulip industry. The online store sells plants ranging from large to small. Their search function is a great feature of the site; you can filter results based difficulty of care, light levels, pet friendliness, and more.
Cactus Store
Here’s another store for those with very specific plant tastes. The Cactus Store sells a variety of cacti and cacti accessories. One thing to note about this shop is that they ship only bare root—you have the provide the pot and soil.
Cactus Limon
Despite the name, the Cactus Limon Etsy shop sells more than cacti—they are succulent-focused as well. Their selections include potted plants meant for corporate gifts as well as flowers and succulents arranged in gorgeous wedding bouquets.
Amazon
Amazon fans, rejoice—the massive online retailer is now selling plants. In their Patio, Lawn, and Garden section, you'll find live indoor house plants, plus pots and fertilizers to make sure that they are happy and thriving. Many of the plants ship Prime, so you’ll receive them in no time.
White Flower Farm
White Flower Farm has been around long before the ubiquity of online shopping. Since 1950, the Connecticut-based farm has sold perennials, annuals, bulbs, shrubs, vines, tools, and more. They’ve since brought their massive selection online, so if there’s something specific you want, you can probably find it here.
