Want to hear history? Through the University of California Santa Barbara Cylinder Audio Archive, the tunes and voices of over a hundred years ago can be projected from your computer or phone. The internet archive compiled over 10,000 wax cylinder recordings—known as phonograph cylinders—from the earliest years of sound recordings. Invented by Thomas Edison in 1877, the phonograph became a vehicle for late 19th and very early 20th-century sound.

Black-Owned Lingerie Company Has Created Breast Cancer Screen Bras for Women of Color

According to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation, Black women have a 40%  higher death rate from breast cancer than white women. In many cases, Black women are diagnosed once the disease has progressed to the latter stages. Breast cancer awareness has increased over the past decades with more resources dedicated to helping catch the first sign of alarm. But even still, a majority of them depict how the symptoms appear on lighter skin.

Seniors Recreate Rihanna’s Super Bowl Performance, Get Roses From the Pop Superstar

Rihanna's Super Bowl Half Time show sent ripples throughout pop culture, from Justina Miles' ASL performance to the conversations it started around motherhood and work. On top of that, it spawned myriad memes and reinterpretations, including some wholesome versions. The residents of Arcadia Senior Living Bowling Green in Kentucky got together to record a TikTok that paid tribute to Rihanna's performance, and the result is wonderful.
