Many domestic cats love their home comforts, while other more adventurous felines spend most of their time outdoors. But even outdoor cats need a place to relax. That’s why K&H Pet Products designed a heated cat house that can provide a warm place for kitties to shelter during the cold months.

Measuring 18 x 22 inches, the kitty kennel is made from 600 denier nylon with a vinyl backing, allowing it to protect cats from rain, snow, and wind. There are two front and rear clear door flaps, so cats can come and go as they please. The entire structure can easily be assembled within minutes, and they also come in many different designs. One looks like a tiny cottage, and another is designed to mimic a mini barn.

You can choose to heat your cat house or keep it cool. The heated version comes with the brand’s Deluxe Lectro-Kennel Heated Pad, which has been tested and certified by MET Labs for electrical safety standards. In summer, simply remove the heated pad and the cat house becomes a place for cats to find some shade.

With over 7,000 reviews on Amazon (amounting to an average 4.7 out of 5 stars rating), it seems people are more than happy with their cat houses. “I got it to help two feral cats I have been feeding and caring for,” reveals one happy customer in a review. “They are siblings and love to cuddle together. I had a bed on my porch but it has been cool in this California weather lately, so I decided to get them something that would give them more protection against the cold and rain.” The reviewer adds, “Almost immediately they took to the house. I had bought a self-warming pad, too and they loved it! It did my heart good to go out early in the morning and see them cozily sleeping together in their own little house!”

Mixed in with many rave reviews is feedback from several customers who do warn that the structure itself is not entirely weatherproof. Some people have found makeshift solutions to better insulate their quirky little cat homes and protect them from the elements. So, do proceed with caution, if you choose to purchase one of these heated cat houses. If you want to buy one for your own feline friend(s), they are available on Amazon and the K&H Pet Products website.
