Ha Chong-Hyun Painting Retrospective Spans 60 Years of Material Experimentation
For six decades, Korean artist Ha Chong-Hyun has pushed painting beyond the boundaries of the canvas. Ha Chong-Hyun: Retrospective at San Francisco’s Asian Art Museum brings together more than 50 works spanning the 1960s through 2025, tracing the artist’s ongoing experimentation with paint, fabric, industrial materials, and physical process. Together, the works reveal how Ha has continually redefined what a painting can be.
